Bump Update - 13 weeks... no, not 12

So this should have been posted last week but I was pretty much bed ridden for the whole week with an insane migraine. I'll be posting this weeks update probably tomorrow!

---

So I know it seems like I am skipping a week. And I am.

I had my 12 week screening ultrasound on Thursday (the 3rd) and the nurse confirmed based on the baby's measurements that I was actually 13 weeks, 1 day (not 12 weeks, 3 days) and that my due date has been changed (again) to July 10th. Although I LOVED the fact that my due date was previously the day my grandparents got married (July 15th), I'm totally ok with the fact that I am a little farther along than previously thought!

This ultrasound can be described in one word: incredible.

Ryan couldn't get out of work in order to make it to this appointment (this is the 1st one he has missed) and I really wish he had of been there. A 13 week fetus compared to a 7 week embryo is a MASSIVE change! Obviously I knew that the baby would look more like a, well, baby... and less like an alien this time around, but wow. It seriously put everything into perspective. We got a pretty little print out of Baby D's first picture so I immediately sent it to Ry and his reaction was exactly what I was feeling; "Wow, it's real now!"

How far along? 13 weeks, 5 days

Size of Baby D? The size of a peach - Baby now has fingerprints and he/she is now forming vocal cords and teeth!

Total weight gain? 4 lbs

Maternity clothes? Nope but have had to start rocking the hair elastic trick with jeans

Sleep? Sleep has been good aside from getting up to use the washroom at least 2-3 times a night

Best moment of the week? Definitely Thursday's ultrasound! Not only did I get to see Baby D look more baby-like this time around, he/she was moving around like a little wiggle worm - it was so amazing to see! We also found out at this appointment that everything is normal as far as the blood test screening and ultrasound screening goes. Baby D also has a healthy and normal heart rate.

Miss anything? Nope, not lately

Cravings? Nope

Symptoms? Just when I thought all my symptoms were finally vanishing, I started out Christmas Day with a migraine and have had one none stop since.

Mood? Still SUPER emotional!

Upcoming appointments? Gender reveal ultrasound on Feb 13th ...no longer on V-day :( Had to reshedule to a closer clinic to my work.

Looking forward to? Finding out the gender!

  1. Have you tried using PhotoBucket? You upload your photos to PhotoBucket, and then insert them into Blogger using the HTML code. I used to use Blogger directly, but ran into a space issue months ago. The only annoying thing is that it takes extra time. But, it's free. So that's a bonus.

  2. This is all verrrryyyy exciting! Can't wait for the gender reveal :)

I couldn't upload pictures this morning, either. I had to upload them into my Gmail photo album, and then into my post. Annoying!
